Shire Scentwork is a collaboration between Sam Finlayson and Alex McRobb. Information you give us is shared between us both so that we can provide the services you have booked.

What we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number and postal address
- Details about your dog, including breed, age, training history and any health, behavioural or medical information you tell us about
- Information you give us about your own health, disabilities or needs, so that we can make adjustments
- Booking and attendance records
- Payment records, though we never see or store your full card details
- Photographs and video taken at sessions
- Messages and emails you send us
- Basic technical information collected by our website, including cookies
Why we use it and our legal basis
- To provide the sessions and services you book, and to take payment. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To keep you informed about your bookings, and to contact you about a session. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To keep our sessions safe, and to plan for the needs of you and your dog. This is in our legitimate interests in running sessions safely, and, where the information relates to your own health, we rely on your consent.
- To keep records for tax, accounting and insurance purposes. This is necessary to meet our legal obligations, and is in our legitimate interests in being able to deal with any claim.
- To use photos and video from sessions in our marketing. If you'd rather not appear, let us know and we'll leave you out; if something's already posted and you want it removed, just ask.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run our business, including our website and booking platform, our payment provider and our accounting software. These providers process your information on our behalf and only as instructed.
We may share information with our insurer if there is an incident, or where we are required to do so by law.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you are a client, and for a reasonable period afterwards. Financial records are kept for six years, as required for tax purposes. Photographs may be kept for longer where you have consented to their use.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it, and to ask us to restrict how we use it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.
